Inchon Port in korea handled 27% more container cargoes in July over the same period last year.
According to Inchon Port Authority (IPA), the port handled 92,770 TEU in July, up 27% compared to the same period last year.
Until July, Inchon Port handled 602,391 TEU, up 16%.
IPA expects that it can achieve 1,200,000 TEU in 2005 as its monthly cargo volumes have increased over 16% compared with last year.
Also, new and used car exports showed an increase with 31,991 cars being exported, for a 63% increase over last year. But accumulated results from January to July stood at 268,498 cars, down 1% compared to last year.
New cars exports were 192,439 units, up 28%, while used cars exports dipped to 76,059 units, down 47% compared to last year.
Overall, cargoes through Inchon Port totaled 72,907,000 tonnes, up 7% compared to last year.
